Full Time, Fixed Term Contract to 28th February
2020, St Pancras
The
British Library is seeking an experienced Exhibition Officer to manage the
content, design, build and installation of major Paccar Gallery exhibitions at
St Pancras. To work with and support the Exhibitions Manager and exhibitions
team in delivering the overall exhibitions and touring programmes.
The
successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent project management
skills and delivery to specific deadline, whilst observing best practice and
procedures. Experience of working with and exhibiting fragile and valuable
collection materials including, paper, manuscript, and bound objects and a
sound knowledge of loan and conservation processes. An understanding of the
materials used in exhibition construction, object displays and of CDM
regulations is essential. Experience of procuring and managing exhibition
designers (3D, graphic, lighting etc.), build contractors, AV/multimedia
providers and other external contractors.
This
role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work with
colleagues at all levels both internally and externally.
