Description
Full time, permanent The British Library’s Learning team is seeking a skilled and
experienced administrator to support across our programmes, with a particular
focus on schools. The Learning Team work both onsite and online to inspire
young people and learners of all ages with the Library’s collections and
expertise. Onsite, the team supports students, teachers, young people,
families, community groups and adult learners. Last year over 33,000 people
took part in our schools programme through workshops, conferences and special events.
With responsibility for administering and maintaining a
large database of school bookings, the post holder will also provide logistical
and operational support across the Learning team. They will meet and greet
school groups on a daily basis, provide support at Learning events and be the
first point of contact for many of our Learning audiences. The post holder will have demonstrable administrative
experience and proven organisational skills, with excellent ability to manage
their time and a busy workload. They will be a confident and accurate
communicator, and effective when interacting with audiences including young
people, teachers, families and key stakeholders. The post holder will need
excellent attention to detail, proven knowledge of Word, Powerpoint, Excel and
other standard software and a grasp of basic finance processes and procedures.
Some knowledge of or experience within the education or cultural sector will
