St Pancras, London or Boston Spa, West Yorkshire

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to continue to implement and develop the Library’s apprentice and volunteer schemes, playing a key role in making our intellectual heritage accessible to everyone.

This is a challenging role in which you will collaborate with colleagues, schools, FE institutions and suppliers to implement, operate and develop our new apprenticeships and volunteer schemes at our sites, north and south. You’ll ensure high-quality provision in accordance with good practice and government requirements while keeping within financial limits.

You’ll be an experienced apprenticeships manager, up to date with the latest changes to the national apprenticeship framework, and highly skilled in listening to and influencing internal and external stakeholders. You’ll be committed to developing people and the principles of volunteering as wellas sharing a wider appreciation of human resource management.

We are working to achieve a diverse and representative workforce at all levels within the British Library. This is a part-time position, working with our current apprenticeships manager, who is returning form maternity leave on a part-time basis. Precise working patterns would be discussed during the selection process.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Glenn Bascombe (Tuesday – Friday) on: 020 7412 7754.

Closing Date: 2nd July 2018

Interview Dates: 18 July in Boston Spa and 19 July in St Pancras

In return we offer a competitive salary and a number of excellent benefits.  Our pension scheme is one of the most valuable benefits we offer, as our staff can become members of the Alpha Pension Scheme where the Library contributes 20.9%. Another significant benefit the Library provides is the provision of a flexible working hours scheme which could allow you to work your hours flexibly over the week and to take up to 5 days flexi leave in a 3 month period. This is on top of 25 days holiday from entry and public and privilege holidays.
