The British Library is one of the world’s greatest and much loved research and cultural institutions. As the national research library of the UK, our mission is to make our intellectual heritage available for everyone, for research, inspiration and enjoyment.

It is an exciting time for data within the British Library, with the development of a data strategy and increased focus on how we understand and use our customer data both now and in the future.  We are looking for a Customer Data Analyst, to help support and build on this work, and ensure that data is at the heart of our audience engagement activities.

This role involves working with external agencies (data, analytical and email) and internal teams (marketing, content and IT) pulling together various sources of data from both a reporting, insight and strategic point of view and then using this data to support and inform both our marketing and strategic activities.

As well as a knowledge of analysis and insight, data handling and manipulation and working with large datasets, experience of querying tools such as SQL plus other packages would be a bonus, e.g. R, WPS, SAS.  Knowledge of how to handle customer data and work with a SCV to extract the maximum amount of learnings from the data in a non-technical manner is a must.
