International Office Administrator

The British Library is looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and efficient administrator to join its busy International Office.
International working is one of the British Library’s core purposes under its Living Knowledge vision, and as an institution we strive to work with partners around the world to advance knowledge and mutual understanding. With an increasing portfolio of international partnerships and projects the International Office, the Library’s central coordinating department, is now expanding to better serve the demand for international engagement, and to support new international initiatives.
You will be a member of the International Office team and provide support for all activities run out of this office. Working directly with the Head of the International Office and a team of International Engagement Managers, you will be responsible for a range of duties, including the full administration of 200+ annual visits, as well as scheduling internal planning meetings, providing desk research and liaising with professional bodies and diplomatic institutions as and when required. In addition, you will assist in consolidating key management information about our international activities, be responsible for our calendar of international events and ensure all activities are logged appropriately.
You will be a calm and confident individual who is very good at juggling multiple enquiries at any one time. You will demonstrate good attention to detail and a genuine interest in the British Library’s vision. You will have good written and communication skills and a friendly and professional manner. Good computer literacy is essential for this role together with the ability to pick up new IT skills quickly.
