|Salary:||£35750 per annum|
|Job Type:||Fixed Term Contract|
|Category:||Strategy, Development, Commercial|
Full Time, Fixed Term until 30 April 2019 (part time hours could be considered)
The British Library is seeking an experienced Data Migration Manager to lead and co-ordinate the delivery of all legacy data extraction, data cleansing and data load activities, from development of the strategy through to implementation for the new Finance ERP system.
The current Oracle E business suite system has been in place for 20 years and was built and developed to support the business needs at that time. Due to complexities built into the system, it is now increasingly expensive to maintain and difficult to make the changes required to meet new business and commercial requirements
The objective of this high profile project is to implement a new finance ERP system that can support the needs of the business as set out in our Living Knowledge. It is a requirement of this project to ensure that statutory requirements in terms of data retention are adhered to and that the legacy Oracle platform can be fully retired. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity that will suit someone with extensive experience of managing data migration activities on large scale ERP implementations, as well as having been responsible for designing new charts of accounts to meet existing and future business needs. You will have a ‘can do’ attitude and be prepared to challenge in a positive and engaging way.
You will work to the Head of Finance System Business Change who is accountable for the successful delivery of the overall change program, and alongside the Finance System Project Manager. Using your extensive experience of data migration and chart of accounts definition, together with your in-depth knowledge of general accounting you will play a key role in delivering the significant benefits of this project.
In return we offer a competitive salary and a number of excellent benefits. Ourpension scheme is one of the most valuable benefits we offer, as our staff can become members of the Alpha Pension Scheme where the Library contributes 20.9%. Another significant benefit the Library provides is the provision of a flexible working hours scheme which could allow you to work your hours flexibly over the week and to take up to 5 days flexi leave in a 3 month period. This is on top of 25 days holiday from entry and public and privilege holidays.
