Salary –  £39,000 pro rata p.a. STP

               £35,750 pro rata p.a. BSP

 

As one of the world’s great libraries, our duty is to preserve the nation’s intellectual memory for the future. At present we have well over 150 million items, in most known languages, with three million new items added every year. We have manuscripts, maps, newspapers, magazines, prints and drawings, music scores, and patents. We operate the world’s largest document delivery service providing millions of items a year to customers all over the world. What matters to us is that we preserve the national memory and enable knowledge to be created both now and in the future. A vacancy has arisen for a Pay and Grading Manager to join the HR Team to help support and deliver the library’s Living Knowledge vision and People Strategy.

 

The role of the Pay and Grading Manager is to lead, under the guidance of the Head of HR, a review of our current pay structure to move towards a new system that supports our People Strategy and to oversee the transition to the new pay structure and to support a major review of our current allowances.  The role will actively network internally and externally to ensure the Library continuously develops and learns from others. 

 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of pay and grading practices and policy, sound analytical, diagnostic and problem solving skills, ability to produce innovative and modernising solutions, excellent interpersonal, negotiating and influencing skills, and ability to work collaboratively and under pressure.
